Rock around the rock – a new, terroir focused Hungarian wine shop in London

A new webshop has been launched in the UK. The concept is simple: they sell wines from 10 Hungarian producers from 5 wine regions – all of them have volcanic soil. The name of the store is Witness Mountain referring to the Hungarian expression used for volcanic mountains (because these mountains are ’witnesses’ of the ancient forms and sizes of themselves). „Many of our wines are not available anywhere else, and each and every one of the growers is personally known to us. The wines that finally make it into our portfolio go through a rigorous selection process, where we ask for advice from international wine professionals, Masters of Wines and Master Sommeliers” – says the owner of the webshop, Eva Cartwright, who runs a wine shop in Hungary on Somló hill as well.
