Why are we talking about white wines at all in Villány? Because the producers reflect the consumer trends, more and more white varieties are planted. Csányi Winery was one of the first estates to place serious emphasis on white varieties – and it was a good decision. 330 wines entered Villány regional wine competition, and the white wine with the highest score is Teleki Válogatás Olaszrizling 2024 with 89.5 points and a gold medal.

Teleki Válogatás Villányi Olaszrizling 2024

The must fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks, and the result is a refreshing wine with moderate alcohol (12 abv). The nose is abundant in white meadow flowers and white flesh fruits, the palate continues with the juice fruits and the typical bitter almond notes appear in the aftertaste. It costs only 1399 HUF / around 3.5 EUR on the winery webshop!

Golden Tasting of Villány in Pécs

The walk-around-tasting will feature several gold medal winner wines of the 56th Villány wine competition.

The city of Pécs is worth a visit anyway. It takes only 2 hours and 15 minutes by car to get there (via M6). By InterCity trains it takes 2.5 hours.
