The new “colleagues” feel at home at Sauska Tokaj

“Hi guys, just arrived to the Sauska estate with my buddies to help out at Medve-vineyard. Our job is basically to live here, walk around, eat and…you know. Looks like a long-term engagement, so we need to learn Hungarian.

Will have to get settled now but will be back for sure. Byyyyyeee!” – twis cute tweet and Facebook-post spreaded in winelovers’ circles in July. The hardworking new colleagues have been doing well, they have got used to their new home in Tokaj. Does it mean that Sauska will be converted into a biodynamic estate? “We are far from farming the whole estate biodynamically” – says Andrea Sauska, adding that they strongly disapprove when wineries use the terms “organic” and “biodynamic” for marketing purposes, without having gone through the whole long, time and energy consuming procedure. “What we really want to achieve, is the elimination of chemicals and the purification of the soil, and we are aware that it is a long term process. We are constantly making every effort to do well – that’s it at the moment, and this cute team is another stage of our initiative to be good” – says Andrea Sauska reassuring, that the sheep are having a good time (“Life is great, lots of yummy greens, quite different from the ones we know.”), so both them and the humans are happy with the cooperation.
