Two more Michelin star restaurants in Budapest!

The 2019 Michelin Guide (Main Cities of Europe) was presented in Wien this week, and Budapest has received two more stars, plus all the Michelin starred restaurant could keep their stars. The two newcomers are Stand restaurant and Babel, both well deserves the acknowledgement. Stand has just been selected the restaurant of the year as we reported earlier, and we also wrote about Babel several times, for example when British Decanter wine magazine has selected Babel „international restaurant of the year 2017” or when Fiona Beckett food and wine writer wrote an article about the restaurant. Péter Blazsovszky, head sommelier of Babel gives hungarianwines.eu wine recommendations frequently, which is much appreciated, because of his deep knowledge and understanding of food and wine matching. With Costes, Costes Downtown, Borkonyha and 2 star Onyx Budapest is the leading capital in Eastern Europe – because altogether now we can boast 7 Michelin stars! Let’s cheers to the fabulous chefs and staff of these great restaurants! For celebration we have picked a méthod traditionelle sparkling wine from Babel wine list: Kreinbacher Prestige BrutThis wonderful wine is fram Somló wine region, and is made of 85% Furmint and 15% Chardonnay. Wonderful perlage of refined, tiny bubbles and nice mousse pamper the tounge and the palate. Fresh and matured at the same time, firm acidity with an extremely long finish.”
