Fermented drinks, unite!

The writer and the team certainly does not say that drinking wine alongside craft beer can be a thing, a trend in bars, they just wanted to experiment with flavours, acidity, reactions – based on the fact that FERMENTING is the common term of both drinks. The experimental tasting took place at Kami Wine Bar at Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The wines were supplied by Hanareya Group while the craft beers were made by Leyd Brewing Co.
There were three wines with three craft beers, and as the article reveals, “Barta Pince’s Öreg Király Dűlő Szamorodni 2021 presents the widest gap of the three: a sweet, botrytised Tokaji, laced with dried pineapple, apricot, honey, vanilla. Against it, Kernel Panic, Leyd’s sour IPA, that was specially canned for this event, without even the label designed.“ And eventually, did it work? “The beautiful Öreg Király single vineyard Szamorodni got nothing but praise. Szamorodni means “as it comes”, and our attendees trusted us enough to take the pairing “as it comes” too.”
