Barta, Béres, Thummerer are among the grand gold winners
Are you an academic? If you come to Hungary for academic reasons, and you are offered a glass of sparkling wine at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, accept it, enjoy it – it will be the stunning Barta Tokaji Furmint 2020 traditional method sparkling wine. 301 wines entered from 95 wineries, and from 20 wine regions. Let us present the winners.

Vintage 2020 is to arrive in the webshop any day! What we know for certain is that the grape comes from the prestigious Öreg Király vineyard (meaning ‘Old King’) and that it is made with the traditional method, of 100% Furmint, with at least 3 years of ageing on the lees.

Hungarian Academy of Sciences wine contest top results
