„Great Pinot”, „really good Syrah” and other pleasures

Steven Spurrier’s tasting notes from Wines of Hungary tasting, UK

Wines of Hungary is not to be confused with hungarianwines.eu – we are two different companies with a lot in common. Both are run by Hungarian ladies (and husbands), but while hungarianwines.eu is a website to promote Hungarian wines in English all over the world, Wines of Hungary is a wine promoting company in the United Kingdom. Lilla Orsolya, the „engine” of the whole project is ambitious and never runs out of energy, and her passion rewards. Several events are organised regularly, their newsletters are read by hundreds of wine experts (if not thousands). They organize wine trips, study tours to Hungary, and also run a webshop, where UK winelovers can buy really great wines from Kreinbacher Extra Dry méthode traditionelle sparkling wines through charming aromatic Haraszthy Irsai and elegant Chardonnay by Etyeki Kúria to complex red wines like Egri Kékfrankos by Tóth Ferenc Winery or super fine Montenuovo Cuvée by Vylyan and up to icon Gere Attila Kopár top wine.

Steven Spurrier liked the wines…

As Wines of Hungary newsletter reports, their latest SITT tasting (Specialist Importers Trade Tasting) took place in September, and Steven Spurrier (legendary wine expert, chairman of Decanter World Wine Award) shared his tasting notes on the wines. Here we share the tasting notes as well, thank you for Wines of Hungary for sending it.
