Pécs University Wine Estate

The Research Institute of Viticulture and Enology of the University of Pécs (PTE SZBKI) has been the intellectual centre of viticulture and oenology activities of Southern Transdanubia since 1949. Thirty hectares of experimental vineyards, a cellar with a floor area of 1600 m2 (capacity 2500 hl) and an accredited laboratory serve these tasks. In cooperation with Hungarian universities and partner institutions, PTE SZBKI actively excels in international cooperation projects in addition to conducting national projects. Its grape variety collection is the largest nationally, and the sixth largest in the world. This gene bank consists of more than 1,500 items.
The wines and other products produced in the institute appear under the brand name of the Pécs University Wine Estate, which the wine tourists and interested parties can visit as well, since besides the increased professional activities, it is a priority for the Institute to be actively involved in the wine-cultural – wine tourism life of the city and the region.

Valley of 3 rivers

The valley of 3 rivers is the home of the best vineyards of Slovakia. The wine region cherishes the heritage of both clerical and noble estates as well as smaller rustic cellars. The wineries make their best effort to mingle tradititonal values with the opportunities given by the most modern techniques. The terroir bordered by the rivers Danube, Garam and Ipoly has a unique microclimate, the amount of sunny hours is high, plus the diverse soils contribute an unparalleled flavour profile to the wines.

3 folyó völgye

A 3 folyó völgyében Szlovákia legjobb szőlőterületeivel találkozhatunk. A borvidék szerves részei a múlt örökségeként megmaradt egyházi és főúri birtokok, illetve kisebb paraszti pincék, melyekben ötvözik a hagyományos értékeket a modern technológia adta lehetőségekkel. A Duna, a Garam és az Ipoly által határolt terület különleges mikroklímája, a magas napsütötte órák száma, a változatos talajadottságok igazán egyedi ízvilágot biztosítanak az itt születő borok számára.

Mátra Guide – vineyard of the mountains

Hungary cannot boast with high peaks and dramatic cliffs, but we have our beautiful Mátra, a soul healing mountain of many children tales. It is a magic land where mountain meets the sun, where green forests hide countless deers and where the meadows scent with flowers and tempt us to lie down in the silky grass. And Mátra is a land of young and talented winemakers.

Tornai Winery

Making wine, building a winery and bringing it to success is not simply a business – it is a passion, an integral part of your life. We have been producing grapes and making wine on Somló since 1946. The Tornai Winery started with the momentum of the post-war rebuilding effort, and decades of continuous construction have made it one of the most significant family estates of Somló wine region.

Vesztergombi Cellar

All the old cities with rich history have families that live, age and renew together with the place, Vesztergombi is a family like this. The family coat of arms used on their labels, comes from the early 1700s. This serves as evidence that the family has been cultivating grapes and making wine out of them for a long time.
Szekszárd’s first vineyard judge was called György Vesztergombi.

Villa Sandahl

Villa Sandahl was founded in Badacsony 2004, by two Swedish brothers with their families. The reason with turning to Hungary, was that world class vineyards were still affordable and could be acquired by wine lovers like us.

Vylyan Vineyard and Winery

We believe that the quality of wine is mainly determined by the grape. Fine wine can be made only with excellent grapes since we start with the fundaments even when building a house.

Zsirai Winery

Our beloved father raised us along these principles, and he established the Zsirai Winery based on them. These are the values we follow when fulfilling his dream and his legacy.
