US Celebrity Chef Chooses Béres Furmint!

14859680_1752158928367685_785619762675369621_oWorld-famous chef Wolfgang Puck recently paired his Santa Barbara spot prawn dish with Hungarian Beres Locse Furmint 2011 to great effect.

The occasion was a Visiting Chef Series dinner on October 19 with co-chefs Sean Bruck (Husk Restaurant, Charleston) and Dave Beran (Next Restaurant, Chicago).

The prawn was made with Thai coconut essence and house curated spices. The mineral character of the Furmint along with the pear, grapefruit, birch, citrus flavours must have been a great match with the exotic tastes.

Wolfgang Puck was born in Austria and learned to cook from his mother, and later he studied in France. He moved to the USA at the age of 24, and soon he became successful with his first book and his first restaurant called Spago. Spago in Beverly Hills was soon listed among the world’s top restaurants. Now he is owner of more then 20 fine dining restaurants, catering company and other food related companies. He appeared in several TV shows and in a TV commercial advertising California (along with famous people such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jack Nicholson) as well.

The meeting of the Hungarian Furmint and the world famous chef could happen to due the cooperation of FurmintUSA and its US merchant, Swirl Wine Brokers.
