Sauska – the art of sparkling wines

Whatever is born in the Tokaj or Villány estate of Sauska, still or sparkling, white, rosé or red, dry or sweet, it is always impeccable, elegant, balanced and has that certain “X factor” called finesse. For the sparkling wines the estate has a consultant from Champagne: the world famous Régis Camus, former Piper-Heidsieck chef du cave.
We grow indigenous and international grape varieties and use only the power of gravity and ambient yeasts to craft our wines. They run the gamut from sparkling to still; dry to sweet; white, red and rose. Teamed up with a young, talented and passionate staff we truly enjoy our journey with the desire to make world-class wines, that are precise, elegant and uniquely Hungarian.

Zsirai – zest and tradition

The Zsirai sisters, Kata and Petra continue their fathers’ legacy respecting the unparallel Tokaj terroir, the traditional winemaking techniques (Csaba Zsirai, the founder was one of the people winemakers who made ‘Fordítás’, an ancient Tokaj style). Apart from the classic sweet wines Zsirai Winery has a range of single vineyard dry Tokaj wines, both Hárslevelű and Furmint. The latest release is a sparkling wine made with the traditional method.
“Creation, attention, thoroughness, values, preservation, perseverance, love, joy, beauty, charm, simplicity, sensitivity, sensibility, uniqueness. Our beloved father raised us along these principles, and he established the Zsirai Winery based on them. These are the values we follow when fulfilling his dream and his legacy. When he became owner of the winery, he was driven by his love for nature and purity, his respect for preserving heritage and his affection for Hungarian wine. This made him set out on a path that established our family’s presence at three of the most significant Hungarian terrains today.
